Wow…it’s been a few months. Amazing what a little bit of time can do. On a side note, I’ll be putting up another blog in the near future, which will probably get written to more…but that’s a different story, different topic. I should be able to write to this one more at that point as well. Big news though. I’ll save that for later, but watch over the next few weeks, possibly a month or two, and I’ll have a big announcement to make.
A new beginning

On Art and the Modern World
April 30th, 2008 · 2 Comments
Well, since this is technically a blog about the arts, and not just Mormon Single Life, I should probably cover some things that relate to my original intended topics. I usually try to stay away from the sensational celebrity tabloid fare, since I really have no interest in such things, but this one really ticks me off, and I have a thing or two to say about it. Firstly, I’m going to say that I’ve never watched Hannah Montana, and I don’t think I ever will. It’s just not my style of show, or music. However, I do have a number of relatives (or whatever you call relatives of people who have married into your family) who are quite taken with it. [Read more →]

How’s that working for you?
April 8th, 2008 · 2 Comments
It’s always interesting how a comment can turn into the topic for a full post (Especially when my idea reserve is low). I’ve got to thank Matt on this one, for his comment regarding the Mid-Singles Conference in Huntington Beach. I went to the site, because it sounds like a blast–and I found this presentation. I think that it is one of the best presentations on the various needs of different groups of singles that I’ve ever seen.
Only a few thoughts on this one today–I know where I fall in that mix–I’m definitely in group 3. I’m going to do more of a point by point on the implications: [Read more →]

2.4 and other issues
March 25th, 2008 · 2 Comments
I know, different topic for me, but I figure posts are better than not. MY guess is that the 2.4 patch is occurring right now in World of Warcraft, as that’s usually why the server goes down for extended maintenance. At least when we know something new’s coming out. So, now we play the waiting game and see what happens for patch day!

Why the pursuit is so difficult
March 5th, 2008 · 4 Comments
In the last post I talked about a number of experiences I’ve had recently. This post is more about general principles that re-appear throughout my experience on this mortal coil so far.
Firstly, I was perusing the archives over at my oft-mentioned favorite blog at the moment, Top of the Mountains, and I came across this post. I sympathize with Ben’s question. All too often we are presented with the situation where there is little to no interest on the girl’s part, and we have to decide whether it’s opposition or a sign. [Read more →]

In the pursuit of eternity
March 5th, 2008 · No Comments
Well, it’s sad really, how I’ve kind of skipped out on posting over the last few months. So firstly, I’ll apologize to my readers–I’ve wanted to post, but nothing’s come to mind. Fear not, though, because this one’s bound to be a doozie! Or, perhaps more accurately, “Be afraid. Be very afraid.” [Read more →]

A New Year
January 1st, 2008 · 4 Comments
Well, Christmas has come and gone, and we are (in my time zone, at least), 43 minutes into a New Year. This means two things:

I Hate This Time of Year
December 16th, 2007 · 2 Comments
Before you think me a Grinch, let me explain — I’m not anti-Christmas, by any stretch of the imagination. It’s the season that bothers me. [Read more →]

Growing Up and Getting Old
December 16th, 2007 · No Comments
I don’t know when it happened. But I must be getting old. For those of you who are my regular readers, here’s a new tidbit–I play World of Warcraft. Yes, the online Roleplaying Game that is sucking up the lives of over 12 Million worldwide. And I’m perfectly happy with that. It occupies my free time so that I don’t have to dwell on the things I would otherwise have to dwell on. Earlier this week, however, I noticed something. [Read more →]

Reunion
December 2nd, 2007 · 2 Comments
Hmmm…it seems that Reunion might handle my needs nicely–I found the ordinance section (it’s hidden by default), and it DOES export to Templeready. This might have potential. Anyone experienced with reunion? I’m still thinking about doing my own for the sake of collaboration, but I do need something to work with in the meanwhile :).
